The electrostatic spraying line uses the principle of high-voltage electrostatic corona electric field. The metal diversion cup on the spray gun head is connected to the high-voltage negative, and the workpiece to be coated is grounded to form a positive, forming a strong electrostatic field between the spray gun and the workpiece. When the carrier gas (compressed air) transports the powder coating from the spray barrel to the diversion cup of the spray gun through the powder conveying pipe, corona discharge is generated because the diversion cup is connected to a high-voltage negative, and a dense charge is generated around it, and the powder is negatively charged. Under the action of electrostatic force and compressed air, the powder is evenly adsorbed on the workpiece. After heating, the powder melts and solidifies into a uniform, flat and smooth coating film.

Main components

An electrostatic spraying line mainly consists of a spraying device, one or several sets of electrostatic spray guns and control devices, an electrostatic generating device (usually configured inside the electrostatic spray gun) and a set of powder recovery devices.
1. Spraying device

In the spraying device, the powder is in a fluidized state, which is achieved by the action of compressed air. The powder is then carried by the high-speed flowing airflow through the siphon effect, forming a powder-gas mixture. After passing through the Venturi powder pump, Powder conveying pipe, reaching the spray gun.

The powder delivered to the spray gun can be controlled. Specifically, the parameters of the powder and air can be adjusted separately, and the amount of powder output and the atomization state of the powder can be changed, so that different coating film thicknesses can be achieved to meet the needs of different products. The spray equipment has sufficient capacity to provide sufficient pressure and flow even though the gun's powder delivery line is 50 feet long.

2. About static electricity

The high voltage and low current generated by the electrostatic generating device causes the electric needle located at the front of the spray gun to discharge in the air. When the powder is ejected through the nozzle of the gun head, the powder particles are charged and transported by electrostatic adsorption and air flow. Dual function to reach the surface of the workpiece that has been grounded.

The spray gun can generate enough voltage to achieve a maximum coating effect, and the maximum voltage can reach 100kV. When spraying inner corners or deep cavity parts, the spray gun can effectively overcome the Faraday cage effect, and all surfaces of the workpiece that are required to be sprayed can reach Good coverage and even film thickness.

3. Spray gun

The structural design of the spray gun must meet the charging requirements of the powder, and the functional design must meet the requirements of various forms of spraying operations and the spraying requirements of workpieces of various shapes.

Installation Instructions
